CABU EXHIBITION
from May 3
International press freedom day
In Russia and in certain subcultures, the laws governing the press are extremely simple. A unique verdict: the death penalty against journalists who are victims of Muslim schizobrothers or those nostalgic for the USSR… In the land of the Enlightenment, one wonders how the press still breathes in this darkness. Yet it breathes, it is alive. But when it is extinguished in the face of these obscurantisms, everything dies there, truth, justice, law.
The exceptional works and documents on display pay a popular tribute to the cartoonist, victim of the terrorist attack against Charlie Hebdo on January 7, 2015. They allow us to evoke some of the glories of the region, such as Albert Dubout, the cartoonist who has the more influenced Cabu from his beginnings, Georges Brassens and Charles Trenet on the music side. A display of 24 tarpaulins on the theme Cabu, all-terrain draftsman presents unpublished photos and drawings in large format and in the open air, in partnership with the Press Club.
