Blow out his breath

Fondation Vincent van Gogh Arles until May 1, 2022

Borrowing its title from a letter by Vincent van Gogh addressed to the painter Émile Bernard from Arles, the thematic exhibition Souffler de son souffle brings together 26 artists from different generations and artistic movements. Freely orchestrating poetic associations between the works, the route unfolds over all the spaces of the Fondation Vincent van Gogh Arles.

These unprecedented comparisons between works created between 1943 and today – with the exception of those by Van Gogh and Hokusai, dating from the 19th century – reveal the breath as their common principle.

Bastard Countryside – Robin Friend

Oil and moss – Igor Tereshkov

From January 13 to March 6, 2022

Documentary photographic center – imageSingulières – Sète

Opening in the presence of the photographers Thursday January 13, 2022 at 6:30 p.m.

Robin Friend's Bastard Countryside explores the British landscape as a series of metaphors. Each photograph is a representation of how our modern way of life is destroying the planet.

Oil and moss, by Igor Tereshkov, features photos taken in the Khantys-Mansis Autonomous District in western Siberia, where about 50% of Russia's oil is produced. This work denounces the irresponsible way in which we treat fossil fuels.
