Maritime Traditions Festival
From April 12 to 18, 2022
This long-awaited edition of the biennial of maritime traditions will bring together an armada of historic ships, with visits on board, parades at sea, naval battles, nautical competitions, concerts, demonstrations, gastronomy...
Along the quays and in the heart of the port, villages of exhibitors from all over the seas offer dozens of discovery workshops on the maritime heritage of yesterday and today, for all audiences.

Stopover in Marseillan - maritime traditions

A few days before Stopover in Sète, the city of Marseillan will host its own Stopover in the port of Marseillan! Discover old Croatian rigging, two commercial barges and a Chinese junk, all in a musical and festive atmosphere.

Title of the satirical Oran newspaper L'Algérie Comique & Pittoresque which recounted Jules Verne's visit to Algeria in two issues and devoted its cover page to him on June 15, 1884. Illustration by J. Chape whose caricature represents the author of Vingt Mille Leagues under the sea sitting at the bottom of the water, with the city of Oran and the hill of Santa Cruz as the horizon.
Below: Coat of arms issued in 1743 to the town of Cette, whose port was created from 1666. They represent a cetacean in front of Mount Saint-Clair, under Neptune and his trident.
